UIT code mandatory in Romania since July

September 25, 2024

Attention! SinceJuly 1, 2024, there have been severe penalties in Romania if transported goods with a high tax value are not provided with a valid UIT code, warns VladislavPachalkov, Team Lead CI & Carrier Management at 4PLCS. This mustbeavailable at the start of the transport. For international deliveries, thismeans from the moment they cross the border.

The regulation applies to both general freight shipments and direct shipments if they

- exceed a weight of 500 kg

- or a value of around 2,000 euros

- as well as for trailers and trucks over 2.5 tons.

In order to receive the UIT code, the goods must be registered in the RO e-Transport system. The buyer or shipper of the goods is responsible for this. 4PLCS customers can relax with regard to the new regulation.

4PLCS will

- enable all carriers to provide the required carrier data for registration in the ROe-Transport system in the 4PLCS TMS or by other means.

-transmit the provided UIT code to the respective carrier as part of the transport order.

-provide all carrier information required for registration for inbound and outbound shipments.
